Breakthroughs in Chips Over a Decade

IBM shows a time line of their breakthroughs in chips over the past decade. Technology has changed considerably over these 10 short years. Breakthroughs like these are what contribute to a smaller, more efficients technology.

  1. Wow, i just wrote a comment about the other one that was smaller than a dime. I said soon they are going to be the size of the tip of a pin. I just didnt think it was going to be this soon!

  3. I worked for a semiconductor equipment manufacturer for several years. I saw chips shrink first hand. It seemed impossible to keep up with the technology. It almost seems as though innovative companies - like IBM and others can somehow manage to invent new miniaturization methods as will.

  4. To know that you can put so much information on something that small is just absolutely amazing. With technological advances like this it is only bringing us closer to where people are micro-chipped. When I see things like this, it always reminds me of Demolition Man only I hope that Arnold is never our President.
